My only trouble with this book is I don’t see how all the characters are going to remain mentally intact after going through so many horrors. It felt quite stretched, and when I finished the last page I realised that not much had happened since the first chapter.

Jun 11, Drew Warner rated it liked it. I don’t know if its both the writing and the fact that I have not gone brolks to reading Terry Brooks in years that made this such a fast and pleasurable read. My only gripe is with the names he gives some places and people.

At least it sounds like it. I always think what I do is wonderful, and that not that much has changed over twenty-five years zntrax professional writing.

And the magic is pretty hand-wavy. Here, they are split up, and Walkerdespite all his plans and his enormous power, finds himself caught brokks trapped by an unseen force, a supercomputer built by the ancient humans.

I would never do this on my own, and so far none of my kids have applied for the job. I’m really digging the addition of air ships and the exploration of old world science as parts of the mythology. The ending was unsatisfactory because there was no ending, and the nature and identity of rerry book’s main antagonist was revealed way too early.

Sure, there were parts of the book that were predictable, but this was one storyline that had me hoping for different outcomes at almost every turn, never receiving them, but being content nonetheless. If you love fantasy and haven’t read this one, you won’t be disappointed.
