This page was last edited on 30 Augustat If you like mysteries, thrillers, dossieg, dark dossifr, crime drama, etc. There are not enough stars in the world for Preston and Child! I loved all the details of the city of Florence along with the art and history references. There’s a connection between the strange, rich people and the hellish ways in which they perished, but the closer they agent gets to the truth the more obstacles appear on his way, seems that not only is the devil out to get him but the brimstine involved in protecting the secrets are as ruthless and vicious as they come.
Two excellent writers talk about their terrific new thriller, Brimstone. Probably my favorite of the Pendergast novels, since Pendergast and D’Agosta are reunited in their crime-solving efforts. It is a miracle they survived childhood intact. I read this book a long time ago and really loved it then just as I loved again this time around. Brimstone is a work of fiction that treats the reader as an intelligent perceptive brimstine as clues are thrown at you pell mell and sometimes slowly. The faults of her character are not truly apparent until the following book, however, and so Brimstone remains readable.
I would recommend this to anyone! This one reminds me of the X-Files, just enough of the supernatural to make you think but enough of the mundane to ground it. The authors indicate they were paying homage to “The Monk” and other G Special Agent Pendergast’s brother Diogenes is the subject of this and the next two books in the series.
Meticulously researched, the novel travels from the streets of New York into the lush and romantic Italy, where Pendergast meets with a nemesis so gran Brimstone is the fifth fantastic read from the ingenious Preston and Child duo and it doesn’t disappoint.
