Written by a scholar ocsanography the field, this book gives an introduction to physical oceanography and covers fundamental topics of interest to biologists, chemists, geologists, and physical oceanographers. The chapters discussing heat transfer, the conservation eq Though I’m not an oceanographer, I found Knauss’s introduction to the topic to be excellent. Chapter 10 Tides and Other Waves. Knauss does a good job with his derivations.
